PHOTOS: Grandeur and realistic battle scenes in Arjun Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt starrer Panipat

Director Ashutosh Gowariker’s magnum opus Panipat is based on the Third Battle Of Panipat which is one of the biggest battles ever fought in Indian History. This is the first time that director Ashutosh is attempting a war-based film on such a large scale. His last magnum opus Jodhaa Akbar was more of a romantic film with very little portions of war sequences. The battle of Panipat is based on the 18th century when the Maratha’s emerged as the most powerful empire in the whole of India but had to fight against Afghan King Ahmad Shah Abdali when he invaded India. Sadashiv Rao Bhau of the Peshwa Kingdom fought against him leading to the biggest war ever fought in Indian History. Both Sadashiv Bhau Rao and Ahmad Shah Abdali were great military strategists. During the battle, Sadashiv employed the SQUARE formation for his entire army while Abdali encountered the CRESCENT formation and this was the toughest part to bring to the screen. For the war sequences, director Ashutosh Gowarike...

SCOOP: Has Shah Rukh Khan signed Raj Nidimoru-Krishna DK's next?

In less than a month, it’ll be a year since Shah Rukh Khan’s last film Zero released. The superstar played a dwarf in this film and despite the novelty, Aanand L Rai’s direction and stellar star cast, the film failed miserably, not even crossing Rs. 100 crore mark. It was a twin setback for SRK as his previous flick Jab Harry Met Sejal had similarly bombed. Shah Rukh Khan hence went in an introspection mode and decided to take his time in signing his next. Thankfully for him, various filmmakers were still desperate to cast him and he was inundated with film offers. It was expected that he’ll sign and announce his next film within six months of Zero ’s release. But as one can see, it’s been almost a year and there are no signs of any announcement by Shah Rukh Khan regarding his upcoming film. However that doesn’t mean he hasn’t shown interest in any film at all. Bollywood Hungama was the first Bollywood portal to reveal exclusively that he’s all set to sign popular Tamil director A...

Salman Khan's Dabangg 3 runs into controversy as Hindu outfit demands a halt on certification

Promotions for Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha's Dabangg 3 are on, in full swing. With about three weeks to go before the film hits the theatres, makers are leaving no stones unturned to make sure it creates the strongest buzz. Meanwhile, the film has run into a trouble! As per reports, a Hindu outfit named Hindu Janajagruti Samiti has asked the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to put a halt to the film's certification. In the recently released title track of the film, Hindu saints or Sadhus are seen dancing along with Salman and he even seeks blessings from three men dressed as Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma. As per the outfit, this hurts the sentiment of Hindus and the imagery of the sadhus, as shown in the song, is derogatory for real sadhus. Earlier, pictures of a shivling covered with wooden planks from the shooting spot of Dabangg 3 had surfaced on the internet, and the team had to clarify that it was done purposely to protect the shivling from any kind of damage...
